There are Patriots in this age who understand that the Future is laid in their hands as unfinished work.

Unyielding they are with a determined FAITH to carry on the tasks set before us 250 labored years ago.

EXCELLENT writing General. Thank you. It made me think of : Elizabeth Willing Powel asking Benjamin Franklin, if the newly formed Constitutional Convention had created a republic or a monarchy? Benjamin Franklin replied, "A Republic, IF YOU CAN KEEP IT". Never before in our 250 year history of our Republic has the threats to our country, to our freedoms, have ever been GREATER, RIGHT NOW. And it is all happening from within right in front of us. The Red Green alliance is REAL (Communists aligned with the radical Islamists to take down America). Yes, there is also the Deep State BIG MONEY Marxist Globalists included. REMEMBER, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: The Democrat Socialist Party that is taking over the LEFT wing democrat establishment party, are truly communists and have become REVOLUTIONARIES. This is most dangerous to America. They are no longer hiding the fact that their goal is to destroy America. They are putting it right in our faces. Most of our big cities have been infiltrated with radical politicians and its spreading. REMEMBER: God, COUNTRY, family. Work hard, be willing to sacrifice to secure our nation. Get out there and VOTE and stop acting discouraged about your vote "not counting". That's the communist plan, to discourage you so much that you don't care anymore and give up on voting and getting involved to save our communities, our counties, our states and country.

Inspiring read. “It’s not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country!” Not sure but I think that quote is from JFK.

We can all get involved at a local level to ensure the sanctity of our institutions.

May we all have a blessed Independence Day!!

🙏💚❤️

Great history Sir! And, many more of those brave men were lost or broken…

What kind of men were they? Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners, men of means, well educated. But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers or both, looted the properties of Ellery, Clymer, Hall, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the Battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis, had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. The owner quietly urged General George Washington to open fire, which was done. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife’s bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his grist mill were laid waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home after the war to find his wife dead, his children vanished. A few weeks later he died from exhaustion and a broken heart.

Norris and Livingston suffered similar fates.

Such were the stories and sacrifices of the American Revolution. These were not wild-eyed, rabble-rousing ruffians. There were soft-spoken men of means and education. They had security, but they valued liberty more. Standing tall, straight, and unwavering, they pledged: “For the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of the Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.”

They gave us an independent America. Can we keep it?

Thank you, Gen. Flynn. May the Spirit of Literacy rise again and again carry the Spirit of Liberty up so that she may soar and roar again, My Country tis of Thee. Sweet Land of Liberty, of Thee I sing. Amen.

When I think of those brave souls and what they gave for freedom, it makes me weep. Eight long years of war. There was another man who came from Poland, and then to London and finally to America. His name was Haym Salomon. He became a member of the New York "Sons of Liberty."

Whenever General Washington was in great trouble, he would say, "Get Salomon." And Haym would save the day. He gave his entire fortune of $600,000 and died penniless to save the new nation.

When I think of what all those men of letters and their families gave to bring this country to freedom, liberty and independence, and what we're facing today, my heart aches.

Our country has two great enemies today, Marxists and Jihadists. General Flynn knows only too well the truth of both. I don't know if we have the kind of men today who would fight for our nation as our founders fought for independence in the 1700s, but I fear that in order to survive, we will need them.

Thank you General for this reminder and may the Lord continue to bless and guide you and your wonderful family.
