The Iranian people who've been oppressed by the crazy zealots who's wearing their towels to tight. For over 40 years when the idiot Jimmy Carter created the toxic environment that put them in power. 70 percent of Iranian civilians see this as an opportunity for long awaited freedom. Anyone with even the slightest amount compassion for our fellow human beings. Should be praying and shouting from the rooftops for the IDF to swiftly neuter the existing ruling class of Iran. My hope: Iran’s theocracy will collapse. The Persians are a great and intelligent people. Perhaps your Post 1, above—which I have not seen elsewhere—is correct, and had some key ayatollahs and government flunkies aboard. Perhaps once the Persians hear of this—just as the Shah fled earlier, and recently Assad fled Syria—they will rise up.
But: “Hope is not a plan.”
My fear: my hope is not realized, this thing drags on, and China begins heavily supplying Iran. This forces tiny Israel to suffer unceasing barrages of missiles, and Israel won’t be able to sustain the repair, morale, and resupply. The US will not be able to stand by, and we’re brought visibly in. (Poor Ukraine will be forgotten, and the Euros will keep backing them up, and the Russians will remain engaged there, at least likely not in Iran.)
